COVID-19 Vaccination in Maine
Maine is committed to an accessible, flexible and equitable vaccination effort.
Maine's vaccine distribution strategy aims to accomplish two goals: 1) to save lives by focusing on Maine people who are at greater risk of serious illness or death from COVID-19; and 2) to further protect and ensure the continuity of emergency response services and COVID-19 response infrastructure on which Maine people rely.

When can I get vaccinated?
Due to continued limits on vaccine availability, Maine has adopted a phased approach to providing vaccines that is generally consistent with recommendations by a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advisory group. More information will be provided as vaccine availability increases.
Maine is currently in Phase 1a.
Vaccinations are planned to proceed consecutively through the groups identified in the phases below. Vaccinations may not always occur precisely in this order due to the need to maximize all of the doses Maine receives.

How to get a vaccination
Health care, public safety, and critical COVID-19 infrastructure personnel should contact their employer or their professional associations to learn how to get a vaccine.
People age 70 and over may begin getting vaccinated, subject to vaccine availability and health system readiness, starting January 18, 2021. Health care providers authorized by Maine CDC for Phase 1b may start contacting patients to schedule a vaccine.
At this point, older Mainers should hold on calling their health care providers. Additional information on vaccination for people age 70 and older in Maine will be available the week of January 18.
Other people, including Maine people aged 65-69, should come back to this website periodically to learn when and how they can get a vaccine.
Information for the public
Although the vaccine is here, COVID-19 remains a serious public health crisis. While the vaccination process is underway, Maine people should continue to wear masks (PDF), practice physical distancing and avoid gatherings at all times.
